About the musicians
Tina Lo (guitar)
Tina Karen Lo is a native of Hong Kong and is regarded as the territory's foremost classical guitarist. She started lessons with George Sakellariou while she was attending San Domenico School in Marin County, California. Later, she graduated from the University of Southern California in Music studying under renowned artists Pepe Romero, Professor James Smith & Tom Gaab.
Tina has performed solo recitals in the United States, Spain, Hong Kong, China, Thailand and Macau. She has appeared as one of the women artists at the American Guitar Society's 70th Anniversary Series(l994) held in Los Angeles. Besides being active in the local music circles as a solo recitalist and chamber music player, she has appeared at the Hong Kong Arts Festival, the Gala Concert for the opening of the Hong Kong Cultural Center, and Concert at the Government House. Radio broadcasts have included RTHK(Hong Kong) "Artist in Residence" and "Live from Studio One" and KQED ( San Francisco).She has also appeared in television performances on Hong Kong TVB and ATV.
She is currently on the faculty of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, the Chinese University of Hong Kong and has taught at the Idyllwild Arts Summer Program in California, USA .Also, she serves as an adjudicator for the Macau Youth Competition.
Solo performances have included recitals at the Ventura Guitar Society (Nov 2006) and Long Beach Guitar Society (2007).
Tina's playing can be heard on her CD "Songs & Dance Fantasy" (Sony Masterworks 7017.2).
Andrea Zanchetta (violin)
Andrea Zanchetta was born in Italy. Since the age of 15 he has given over 1500 concerts as soloist and chamber musician. He graduated from the State Conservatory of Venice with high distinction in violin, string quartet and chamber music performance. He has won prizes at international competitions for violin and chamber music, such as the Premio Gorizia in Italy and others.
Andrea's teachers and mentors include the world renowned violin pedagogue Zinaida Gilels, Franco Rossi, cellist of the Quartetto Italiano, pianist Eugenio Bagnoli and Henryk Szeryng.
As a soloist and chamber musician Andrea has played in many important venues among Europe, Japan and Australia. In recent years he has been focusing on the Italian virtuoso music of the 18th and 19th centuries on both modern and baroque violin, bringing new life to over 50 different works by Vivaldi and many rare works by Paganini and Tartini in performances with the string orchestra Interpreti Veneziani. Several of these concerts were broadcast on television in Europe and Japan. He has recorded 12 CD's for the Rivoalto and Nuova Era labels.
Andrea came to Hong Kong in 2007. He has appeared as a soloist with the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong.
